João Godinho
João Godinho, artisan luthier portugais, né à Porto en 1969, a construit sa première guitare électrique à l'âge de 12 ans. Formé par un maître luthier dans les années 80, il a fondé son propre atelier au Luxembourg en 2004, se consacrant exclusivement à la création et la réparation d'instruments à cordes.
Le Tally Project consiste en la réinterprétation de deux guitares électriques mythiques dont résultent deux nouveaux prototypes HBT Tally et LP Tally. Les points de départ sont la Fender Telecaster et la Gibson Les Paul ; le point d'arrivée sont les deux Tally, à savoir la HBT (Hollow Body Telecaster) et la LP (Les Paul). Le choix et la combinaison des matériaux utilisés et l'option pour leur finition naturelle, ainsi que quelques détails ornementaux surprenants donnent aux instruments une noblesse dépouillée qui traduit ces deux modèles classiques dans une esthétique de notre temps.
En choisissant d'incorporer une caisse de résonance dans des instruments dont le corps est généralement massif, la qualité sonore et la réponse dynamique des guitares a pu être améliorée. D'autres solutions moins traditionnelles ont été le choix de matériaux organiques tels que l'ébène pour les pièces de contact acoustique qui sont normalement fabriquées en métal ou en matériaux synthétiques. En ce qui concerne l'électronique, qui est commune aux deux modèles, une conception originale et simple a été choisie pour assurer une connectivité polyvalente et multifonctionnelle.

Portuguese luthier João Godinho, born in Porto in 1969, built his first electric guitar at the age of 12. Trained by a master luthier in the 1980s, he set up his own workshop in Luxembourg in 2004, devoting himself exclusively to the creation and repair of stringed instruments.
The Tally Project involves reinterpreting two legendary electric guitars, resulting in two new prototypes, the HBT Tally and the LP Tally. The starting points are the Fender Telecaster and the Gibson Les Paul; the end points are the two Tally guitars, the HBT (Hollow Body Telecaster) and the LP (Les Paul). The choice and combination of materials used and the option of natural finishes, along with some surprising ornamental details, give the instruments a stripped-down nobility that translates these two classic models into a contemporary aesthetic.
By choosing to incorporate a resonance box into instruments whose bodies are generally solid, the sound quality and dynamic response of the guitars has been improved. Other less traditional solutions have been the choice of organic materials such as ebony for acoustic contact parts that are normally made of metal or synthetic materials. As for the electronics, which are common to both models, an original and simple design has been chosen to ensure versatile and multifunctional connectivity.
