Schelling Margarete
Schelling Margarete is a jewelry designer living and working in Noirmoutiers and Luxembourg. Margarete is a member of the AAPL and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Arlon, jewelry section, with Claire Lavendhomme, Patrick Marchal and Arnaud Sprimont. Perfecting her skills in workshops from Estonia to Spain, she has exhibited in Belgium, France and Italy.
The artist defines herself as a wanderer, a gleaner, she is filled with wonder and joy at the objects she finds on her travels and strolls. It's these emotions that she transmits in her jewelry. The shards of glass and bits of plastic she collects - "worthless" objects from here and elsewhere - can thus - sometimes parsimoniously adorned with precious materials - find a second life and reveal their beauty, their magic.
For this exhibition, the artist honors the memory of the Grand Duchy's steel industry. Her works combine shots of industrial relics and photos of the artist, transferred and then engraved in metal, zinc or copper, cut out and finally combined with found objects or stones to be assembled in brooches.
