Thierry Hahn
Thierry Hahn, born in Luxembourg in 2000, entered the Lycée des Arts et Métiers in 2015. In 2020, he graduated with honours in the arts and visual communication section. Since then, he has been studying fine art, specialising in sculpture, at the Alanus University of the Arts and Society near Bonn in Germany. Since 2022, he has regularly taken part in exhibitions and has won 2 prizes.
The main focus of his research is sculpture. He uses a variety of materials and media. He is primarily interested in contemporary sculptural issues such as the way in which sculpture and pedestals are assembled. His works are sometimes based on concepts, sometimes on purely aesthetic experience. From the figurative to the abstract.
The sculpture is made of steel. This material offers many possibilities. That's why Luxembourg has benefited from it in so many ways. Sheets 2.5 mm thick were cut with a plasma cutter and rolled. The work was then MAG welded, separated and sanded using an angle grinder. Regardless of the title, steel, its processing and its context are firmly rooted in our industrial history.
