“Anne-Marie Herckes' miniature art is linked to contemporary fashion.”
Anne-Marie Herckes
Anne-Marie Herckes, born in 1978 in Luxembourg, studied fashion design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. She gained her professional experience with Viktor & Rolf, Kostas Murkudis, Ute Ploier, the girl and the gorilla and then created her own brand of accessories and textile jewelry in 2006. She collaborated with MUDAM (Luxembourg), ColetteXGap (Paris / New York) and Missoni (Japan).
According to Didier Damiani [2008], "the miniature version of Anne-Marie Herckes is linked to contemporary fashion. Brooches of mood, style and envy, her jewels allow to appropriate sometimes inaccessible outfits or summarize a type of wardrobe. Close to "mini- cloakrooms", the miniaturized collections and outfits custom-made by the young stylist are representative of the major fashion houses, identifiable personalities, or seasonal masterpieces. Anne-Marie Herckes names her creations and her jewels giving an indication of the source of inspiration and personalizing at the same time this new work becoming unique and original. "
