The ceramic sculptures in the '0rigins' series symbolise the mythical and magical act of being born and reborn. The egg has been the main theme of Doris's artistic work for some time now. The 'egg', with its perfect shape, is present in many mythologies and cultural and religious traditions as a symbol of creation, productivity and expressing the birth and reproduction of new life. The traces and various fractures and wounds on the surface or inside the egg reveal this permanent and destructive metamorphosis of our territories...
Clay, his favourite material, allows him to metamorphose the unique shape of the egg. The breaks and cracks on the outside and/or inside reflect archaeological traces or legends.
