Son intérêt se porte immédiatement sur les chapeaux et leurs techniques de fabrication. Elle travaille dans l’atelier de la Maison Michel (Chanel) où elle obtient son CAP dans le domaine du chapeau mode. De retour au Japon, elle crée son propre atelier et travaille pour la prestigieuse société YUMI KATUSRA, créant et fabriquant chapeaux et “bibis” pour les défilés. Elle a été chargée de cours à l’Université des Arts et Métiers Kanazawa. Ses créations pour le théâtre GEKIDAN SHIKI lui permirent d’obtenir une bourse du Ministère japonais de la culture japonaise pour effectuer des recherches en France sur le théâtre d’art, les costumes et chapeaux. En 2003, elle est admise comme chercheuse stagiaire à la Comédie Française et crée pour le cinéma. Depuis, elle réalise costumes et chapeaux artistiques pour le théâtre, l’opéra ou de célèbres stylistes. Kyoko donne une modernité aux formes et matières traditionnelles. Elle a obtenu plusieurs prix de renommée internationale. A student at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, Kyoko Murayama is a graduate of the painting section. Right away, she was interested in hats and their manufacturing techniques. She worked in the Maison Michel (Chanel) workshop where she obtained her CAP (certificate of professional competence) in the field of fashion hats. Back in Japan, she created her own workshop and worked for the prestigious company YUMI KATUSRA, creating and making hats and "foxes" for fashion shows. She was a lecturer at the Kanazawa University of Arts and Crafts. Her creations for the GEKIDAN SHIKI Theater allowed her to obtain a scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Japanese Culture to conduct research in France on theater of art, costumes and hats. In 2003, she was admitted as a trainee-researcher at the Comédie Française and started working for the filmmaking. Since then, she has been making costumes and artistic hats for the theater, the opera or famous fashion designers. Kyoko gives modernity to traditional shapes and materials.
