Svenja Kalz studied textiles and materials during a master's semester with the theme "The Future will be confusing". Using textile and craft techniques with specific characteristics, she sought to express the ambivalence between belonging to the mass and individualisation. The search for aesthetic disharmony and conflict was at the heart of her work. Many techniques, such as weaving, knotting, punching, embroidery, watercolour and photo transfer were used and combined in innovative ways. Wiebke Busch's Master's thesis "Let the Grass grow under your feet" is a tribute to time, craft and nature and seeks to develop sustainable creative processes. In preparation for her thesis, Wiebke completed an internship at a Malhia Kent high fashion weaving mill in Paris, in order to professionally create the textiles using sophisticated weaving techniques. The colours and patterns of the printed designs are derived from observations of nature and the environments she has discovered on her travels. At the end of this journey to herself, an unpretentious and fairy-tale-like collection was created, which allows us to take a completely new look at fashion. hochschule-trier.de Irina KEMPF Svenja KALZ Wiebke BUSCH DE MAINS DE MAÎTRES | 231
