FR | António Louro né en 1949 à Nisa, a appris l’art de la poterie dès l’enfance auprès de son père, avec qui il a travaillé jusqu’à son entrée au service militaire. Il a travaillé au Conseil des Routes Autonomes et en 1984 il a repris son travail de potier dans l’atelier de son père, dont il a hérité de l’entreprise en partenariat avec son épouse, Maria da Graça, qui travaille à l’application des pavés qui caractérisent tant la poterie de Nisa. En 2003, il a été l’un des lauréats du Prix National de l’Artisanat, créé par l’Institut de l’Emploi et de la Formation Professionnelle (IEFP). EN | António Louro (b. 1949) was born in Nisa and learnt the art of pottery as a child with his father, with whom he worked until he went into military service. He worked for the Autonomous Roads Board and, in 1984, resumed working as a potter in his father’s workshop, from whom he inherited the business in partnership with his wife, Maria da Graça, who applies the stones that characterise Nisa pottery.
