Leir a été nommé Conseiller spécial auprès du Ministère de l'Economie du Grand-Duché, Consul du Luxembourg auprès de l'Etat du Connecticut et Consul général honoraire pour les cantons suisses de Vaud et du Valais ; M. et Mme Leir ont tous deux été fait chevalier de la Légion d'honneur française. EN | Our founders, Henry J. and Erna D. Leir, had a very special relationship with Luxembourg since first arriving from Germany. Over the many years the Leirs spent in Luxembourg, they received numerous international honors for their work. Mr. Leir was named Special Adviser to the Ministry of Economy of the Grand Duchy, Consul of Luxembourg to the State of Connecticut, and Honorary Consul-General for the Swiss Cantons of Vaud and Valais; both Mr. and Mrs. Leir were granted knighthood to the French Legion of Honor. The Leirs devoted much of their time and effort to philanthropy, supporting humanitarian ideals through the advancement of high caliber medical research and care, programs for children and the disadvantaged, and educational and cultural institutions that emphasize multiculturalism and understanding through diversity. The Leir Charitable Foundations is pleased to continue this vision of philanthropy in memory of the Leirs and their lifelong commitment to Luxembourg’s industries and arts.
