FR | Pitt Brandenburger est né en 1961 à Esch-sur-Alzette. Sculpteur passionné par le bois qu’il travaille sans relâche, il a ouvert les horizons d’un projet d’hommage aux arbres pour attester de leur importance sur terre et pour le vivant dont l’humain est partie intégrante. Tout en poursuivant ses travaux antérieurs de production d’œuvres anthropomorphes pleines de symboles et de mystiques de civilisations anciennes, il présente cette année une sculpture concept dédiée au sureau, arbre que les hommes ont utilisé à des fins tant médicinales qu’artistiques. Ce ne sont que les prémices d’un projet ambitieux visant à terme la réalisation de 40 sculptures d’essences différentes. Les bois seront récupérés, pas un seul arbre ne sera abattu, dans une optique de recyclage de ce matériau si indispensable à notre vie. Des supports pédagogiques décriront les apports des arbres ainsi célébrés pour l’Homme. Et pourquoi, ensuite, ne pas se projeter dans une exposition itinérante mariant le travail du sculpteur à ceux d’autres artisans de qualité ? A sculptor with a passion for wood, which he works tirelessly, he has opened up the horizons of a project in homage to trees, to attest to their importance on earth and for the living world, of which humans are an integral part. While continuing his earlier work producing anthropomorphic works full of the symbols and mystics of ancient civilizations, this year he presents a concept sculpture dedicated to the elder tree, which man has used for both medicinal and artistic purposes. These are just the beginnings of an ambitious project that will eventually see the creation of 40 sculptures of different species. Not a single tree will be cut down, with a view to recycling this material so essential to our lives. Educational material will describe the contributions of the trees celebrated in this way to mankind. And why not take part in a travelling exhibition combining the sculptor's work with that of other top-quality craftsmen?
