Romy Collé
After graduating from the Lycée des Arts et Métiers in Luxembourg in 2007, Romy Collé continued her studies in Munich, where she obtained her master goldsmith's diploma in 2014. After working in a jeweller's shop in the heart of Luxembourg City, she decided in 2016 to become self-employed to work in her own workshop and give free rein to her creativity. Since then, she has successfully taken part in a number of competitions and calls for projects, including "de Mains de Maîtres" (goldsmithing) and the renovation of the "petit casino" in Differdange (painting).
His work is characterised by a combination of shapes inspired by nature - rounded, slender forms with fluid movements - complemented by strict, hexagonal geometric shapes inspired by human achievements.
The project involves using the experience and techniques she has acquired to deepen the stylistic and artistic expression of her work. Romy explores new territories, both figuratively, by returning to the use of paint as a medium of expression and exploring new technologies such as 3D printing and laser welding, and literally, by anchoring the works in the geographical context she has travelled through throughout her artistic training: Hamburg, Munich and the 'Minett' coalfield.
