“Danielle illustrates children's books, poets' notebooks, silkscreens and family trees on wooden boards.”
Danielle Grosbusch
Danielle Grosbusch was born in Ettelbruck in 1956, where she lives and works. She attended the Fine Arts in the 1970s, inspired by the work of Roger Bertemes and engraving. She study textiles, screen printing and lithography in Amsterdam at the Rietveld and at the Académie Royale in Brussels. In the 1980s, she illustrated, taught silk painting and founded Articulum, an artists' supplies store. Since 2000, Danielle has taken part in individual and group exhibitions at national and international level. She is a member of CAL and participates in artist residencies abroad. She has also been teaching printmaking at Atelier Empreinte since 2004.
A "green thread" of botany, stones, landscapes, trees and roots runs through her work, highlights the sensitive, ephemeral beauty of our world. Her works call us to appreciate the simple but essential things that surround us. Inspired by the Azulejos of our guest country, Portugal, she reuses several motifs from her copper dies, assembling them in a new, playful way to create a unique composition.
