Kai Hengen & Olaf Recht

Olaf Recht is born and raised in Luxembourg. Olaf’s product design education brings him from Switzerland over Milan to Los Angeles where he graduated in 1998. He starts his professional career in California mainly focused on consumer electronics and goods, design and product strategy as well as medical devices. In 2010 Olaf returns to Europe and immerses himself in the world of interior and furniture design and is currently active as an independent designer in many different design fields.

Kai Hengen is born in 1979 in Luxembourg and finished his master in Wilz in 2004. In 2010 he founds the joinery shop ‘Modulor Menuiserie + Design S.A.’ in Mersch which focuses on modern and creative craftsmanship in the field of interior and furniture design. From initial concepts to implementations of entire interior designs to single furniture pieces, Modulor is dedicated to a clear design language to achieve creative and timeless, made to measure, furniture in sustainable materials.
