Sada Elke
German ceramic artist Elke Sada inspires with her unconventional works. Her combination of ceramics and painting is innovative and refreshing. Countless awards and entries in public and private collections honour Elke Sada's artistic development. She has, for example, been nominated for the Loewe Craft Prize 2019. Elke studied in Bath, in the south of England, and furthered her artistic development at the Royal College of Art in London, where she did her Master of Arts in Ceramics and Glass. During this time she worked intensively on ceramic techniques and fine art to finally find her own path, which includes painting as an integral part of her work. The fascination with the process of making an ancient copper vessel in the Hallstatt Museum in Austria led to a new series of Austria led to a new series of works. Therefore, the title of the series is HALLSTATTPIECES. The solid and vital pots are handmade from clay fragments, which she shapes with her hands. The seams are visible and she allows a lot of movement.
