Katarzyna Kot

Born in Poland in 1978, Katarzyna Kot studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, graduating with a Master's degree in 2003. At the same time, she took courses at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. As part of her training in art education, she shares her passion with CEPA. Living in the Grand Duchy since 2002, she has made a name for herself with her monumental bronze works. A member of the Sixhtfloor collective in Koerich, Katarzyna has won several awards and regularly exhibits in Luxembourg and abroad. She has exhibited at Art Fair Stockholm, the Grand Palais in Paris, the Durden and Ray gallery in Los Angeles, Brussels, Venice, Domaine Art et Nature in Chaumont sur Loire and Mons.

Katarzyna is deeply inspired by nature, sculpting local trees and engaging in a dialogue with plant beauty. Her work reflects an ecological ideology, combining observation of cycles and personal interaction.

She favours natural materials, in particular wood, which has become fragile and which she stabilises through lengthy recycling. Her creations often include 'fragments of memory', made from branches, leaves, bark or resin, exploring life, death, memory and time.
