Payet Charlotte

Charlotte Payet is a Luxembourg artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Muthesius in Kiel, Germany and a Master of Fine Arts from the «Bezalel Academy» in Jerusalem. The artist has a particular interest in the cycle of the ecosystem in his work, considering man as a microcosm in a macrocosm.

Thus, she collects the plastic waste that accumulates in her environment to create works composed of industrially colored PET bottles, which turn into a welded or woven surface - or spatial sculptures. This collection of bottles in the region of Luxembourg allows to remove a tiny part of the consumption circuit and to recycle them into a woven carpet using the oldest artisanal technique. This represents the interconnection of humanity and the problem of waste treatment.
